Malard’s two quick goals early in the second half effectively sealed the game in favor of United, bringing her season total to four and matching her tally from the 2024/25 WSL season already.
“She’s been in fantastic form, truly impressive,” Skinner said when reflecting on our number nine’s performance. “What’s even more significant is now that she’s settled in, we’re seeing her best. She can move fluidly across the front line and she presents quite a challenge for opponents.”
“I still believe she had the chance for a hat-trick today, so I’ll definitely mention that to her,” the manager added with a playful grin. “But I’m really proud of how she’s kicked off the season.”
