Both teams are facing several challenges as they prepare for the upcoming match.
United will be missing Noussair Mazraoui, Amad, and Bryan Mbeumo, who are away for the Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, head coach Amorim has indicated that midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes are likely to be unavailable due to injuries.
Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt are also out, but Casemiro is set to return after serving a one-match suspension.
Jack Fletcher and Shea Lacey made their senior debuts last weekend, both featuring towards the end of the game in the Midlands.
Newcastle will be without several defenders: Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, and Valentino Livramento.
Sven Botman is nearing a return, while Lewis Miley, who has been filling in at full-back, and Joelinton are being assessed but could be ready to play.
Nick Pope is expected to be available and will compete with Aaron Ramsdale for the starting goalkeeper position.
