“Currently, I hold weekly meetings with the recruitment team to discuss various player profiles, their age, costs, and how attainable they are, alongside Ruben. This approach fosters a strong collaborative effort. When we sign a player, a multitude of individuals play a role in the process. The data team also contributes, allowing us to concentrate our efforts on particular targets.

“It’s crucial that we conduct thorough background checks to ensure that the players are clean-living professionals. This factor is essential. This year, our focus was on players ready for the Premier League, and with Bryan [Mbeumo] and Matheus [Cunha], we had to be cautious.
