WHAT’S AT STAKE?
United is aiming to secure qualification for the inaugural league phase of the competition, which follows a similar structure to the men’s tournament, featuring 18 teams and six matches for each club.
Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea, Juventus, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, and Wolfsburg have already secured their spots, while the final nine teams are currently being determined through the Champions and League qualifying paths.
The Reds have the opportunity to advance by overcoming a one-goal deficit from the first leg. If the aggregate score is tied after 90 minutes and potentially again after 120 minutes, extra time and penalties may be necessary.
If United does not succeed, we will enter the Women’s Europa Cup, participating in a two-legged knockout tournament starting in the second qualifying round in October.
