Given Amad’s known offensive talents, his defensive effort just before halftime, winning a free-kick with a well-timed tackle, was particularly impressive. Similarly, Leny’s defensive prowess shone through, especially during a composed moment in the final third 29 minutes into the match.
In midfield, Ugarte and Mainoo injected a much-needed energy into the team. Ruben highlighted Mainoo’s potential the day before, referring to him as a “big talent” who “needs to ramp up the rhythm and pace.”
“I always keep a close eye on Kobbie,” Ruben noted, “because while he has brilliant moments, there’s still room for improvement.”
