A dynamic physical talent, the young player quickly accumulated 33 senior appearances for his team and participated in nine games at this year’s Under-20 South American Championship. He scored against Argentina and gained valuable experience from that match.
In response to Leon’s admiration for Brazilian defender Marcelo, Cerro Porteno coach Manolo Jimenez introduced a former United star into the conversation.
“I hope one day we can say he has had a career reminiscent of Marcelo’s,” he stated. “Or, if he joins United, to have an impact similar to Patrice Evra’s at Old Trafford.”
