Before Varane, Amad donned the no.19 shirt for a season, following in the footsteps of Marcus Rashford. Rashford is one of several Academy graduate strikers to wear this number, with James Wilson and Danny Welbeck having done so prior.
Alongside Amad, Rashford, and Welbeck, Mbeumo now takes on the no.19 jersey, succeeding another prolific scorer: Treble-winner Dwight Yorke, who found the net 66 times during his four seasons with United.
Perhaps most notably, Mbeumo shares the same squad number as Eric Djemba-Djemba, the only other Cameroonian outfielder to have played for the club.
