The Danish full-back joined Manchester United in January 2025 and has embraced his heritage by including his Igbo name, ‘Chinazaekpere,’ in his public persona for several months.
Recently, we had the opportunity to meet with Patrick at his local church to talk about his beliefs and to learn more about the significance of his name in the Igbo language, which is spoken in south-eastern Nigeria.
“Chinazaekpere translates to ‘God answers prayers,’” he shared.
