The project aims to double the number of rail seats in the stadium, positioning Old Trafford as one of the Premier League’s premier venues for safe standing.
The initial phase of the seats is set to be ready for the upcoming match against Sunderland. However, this section will still be classified as seated during that game until the installation is fully completed and officially authorized by the Sports Grounds Safety Authority (SGSA).
The club anticipates that the installation will be completed by the end of October, although the SGSA’s formal approval for the area to be utilized as safe standing may occur at a later date.
This initiative is part of the club’s commitment to enhancing the matchday experience, as safe standing is recognized for its ability to elevate the atmosphere while also prioritizing safety.
