The dynamic and athletic center-forward began his football journey in junior leagues with his local club, Radece, situated between Ljubljana and Zagreb. He had two stints at Radece, separated by a brief spell at Rudar Trbovilje. By the time he reached the Under-15 level, he had joined Krsko, where he showcased his scoring ability with an incredible tally of 59 goals in just 23 league matches, earning himself a spot on the Slovenia national team for that age group.
A move to the top-tier team Domzale soon brought wider recognition of his exceptional skills.
Interestingly, it was during this time that Manchester United first expressed interest in the young striker. However, reports suggest that he was cautious about transitioning to a major league too early, opting instead to develop his skills gradually.
His impressive performance in the 2018/19 season, where he scored 21 goals in 23 league appearances, highlighted his potential. He spent just one season before turning professional with RB Salzburg in Austria at the age of 16.
