In the current 2025/26 season, 65 different nationalities are represented in the Premier League. But which countries have the highest number of players in the league? At Transfermarkt, we’ve compiled a list of nations with the most talent currently competing.
Leading the pack is France, boasting 40 players across the Premier League. The most valuable among them is Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitiké, valued at €85 million. French players constitute 10.3% of all foreign talent currently active in the Premier League. Following France, the Netherlands ranks second with 36 Dutch players in the English top flight. Brazil takes third place with 31 representatives, marking the first South American nation on the list, while Spain, which previously topped this chart, now sits in fourth with 21 players.
In fifth place is Germany, with 15 players participating in the Premier League this season. Argentina and Portugal are tied for sixth, each with 14 players. Belgium follows closely in eighth with 12 representatives. Lastly, Italy, Scotland, Sweden, and Wales share the ninth position, each boasting 11 players in the Premier League this term.
