<p>Joshua Zirkzee seems set to depart from Manchester United in January, as the striker is becoming increasingly frustrated by his limited playing time. The 24-year-old has not started any matches this season, having only accumulated 74 minutes over four substitute appearances. He has been an unused substitute in five Premier League games and has not scored a league goal since last December.</p>
<p>Although he has demonstrated technical skills, Zirkzee's time at Old Trafford has not flourished since his €42.5 million transfer from Bologna in 2024. The former Bayern Munich player has netted only seven goals in 53 games and is eager for regular play to keep his World Cup aspirations with the Netherlands alive. With United absent from European competitions this season, Zirkzee’s chances to shine will be significantly restricted, leading us to examine four possible exit options for him in January.</p>
<p><strong>West Ham United</strong></p>
<p>Currently, West Ham appears to be the leading contender for Zirkzee's signature, as they urgently need attacking options. The Hammers are struggling in 19th place in the Premier League and are in a relegation battle. They have scored the fewest goals in the league (5) and possess only two senior strikers, Niclas Füllkrug and Callum Wilson, both of whom are in their thirties and have encountered injuries. Zirkzee would provide a significant upgrade and likely see regular playing time.</p>
<p><strong>Roma</strong></p>
<p>Zirkzee earned admiration during his two years at Bologna, and his more relaxed style and technical skills could be well-suited to the slower pace of Serie A. Roma is considering a move for him in January, particularly as they weigh up ending Evan Ferguson’s loan and view Zirkzee as a potential replacement. Despite having only 13 goals in 57 Serie A appearances, Zirkzee showed promise during his time in Italy.</p>
<p><strong>Juventus</strong></p>
<p>Before Zirkzee's move to Manchester United, Juventus showed considerable interest in him, and rumors continued into last summer. They might rekindle their interest as they aim to enhance their performance following a disappointing start to the season, having scored just nine goals in seven Serie A matches—especially with uncertainty surrounding Dušan Vlahović’s future.</p>
<p><strong>Everton</strong></p>
<p>Interestingly, Zirkzee had a trial with Everton back in 2017, where he played two matches in a youth tournament under then-manager Ronald Koeman. Although he was seriosuly contemplating a move from Feyenoord to Everton, he ultimately signed with Bayern Munich. Reports suggest that Everton is interested in a loan deal for Zirkzee in January, which could be an ideal fit given that Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled to make an impact this season.</p>
