Amorim provided further details regarding De Ligt’s injury, which caused him to miss the draw against West Ham and the victory at Molineux on Monday.
“I believe he has some issues with his back, though I can’t say for certain,” he stated.
“At times, it doesn’t seem to be a significant injury, especially since he completed the match quite well against Crystal Palace. However, he is experiencing some discomfort.”
“You might think it could be resolved within the week, but there are moments when he feels a bit of pain, so we need to exercise caution.”
The manager also mentioned that the departure date for the three players set to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations remains uncertain, prompting United to prepare for the match with Amad, Noussair Mazraoui, and Bryan Mbeumo.
“I anticipate that we will have a decision either today or tomorrow, but we are ready to wait until the last moment to ensure all players are available and to select the best team for the match,” he added.
