Since joining United last month, Jess Park has made a significant impact, bringing an exciting energy to the squad. Although she started the match on the bench, she went on to score two goals, a strategic decision that manager Skinner later clarified was part of their tactic to outmaneuver Everton.
“We anticipated that Everton would have a specific plan to contain Jess, especially since they had a week to prepare,” the manager explained.
“So, we opted for a winger system instead of playing with an attacking midfielder. In the second half, when Park entered the game, they were forced to adjust once more. It’s essential to keep our opponents guessing, showing that we have multiple strategies to threaten them, rather than relying on just one approach.”
