SKINNER: JUVE PRESENTS A UNIQUE CHALLENGE
“The way we manage the game, including time and the strengths of Lyon, differs somewhat from Juventus. We must acknowledge these differences and adapt our preparations accordingly. It’s about executing in key moments and recognizing the distinct style of refereeing; that factor also influences the match. We must remain entirely focused on our identity and how we handle the ball. If we succeed in doing that, we can create difficulties for any opponent.”
SKINNER: ITALY’S FOOTBALL IS ON THE RISE
“I think Juventus has performed exceptionally well in this tournament thus far. Facing a prestigious club like Juve in our final match is not only appropriate but also an exciting challenge for us. It reflects the impressive development of the Italian league, highlighted by players like former Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti joining Juventus. There is a wealth of talent in their squad and throughout the league. When I was managing Birmingham seven or eight seasons ago, we had a player, Ellie Brazil, who moved to Fiorentina, and I’ve witnessed the league’s growth since then. Many Italian teams have excelled at the Euros and beyond, showcasing a plethora of gifted players. The historical strength of both men’s and women’s teams is noteworthy, and I’m eager to take on Juventus.”
