Each year, Transfermarkt users have the opportunity to vote for the player who they believe has excelled beyond all others in Europe’s top leagues. This year, there was no question about the Premier League winner. Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, dominated the vote with an impressive 70.3 percent, securing the title of “Player of the Season” from Transfermarkt users. Trailing in second and third place were Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and former Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, both receiving 4.9 percent of the votes.
Throughout 38 league matches for Arne Slot’s squad, Salah showcased his talent with an astounding 29 goals and 18 assists in the Premier League last season. The 33-year-old not only concluded the league campaign with 18 more goal contributions than the next closest player (Isak) but also led the league in both goals and assists.
“Liverpool were undoubtedly the best team in the Premier League last season, and at the forefront of that formidable attack was none other than Salah,” stated UK Area Manager Stefan Bienkowski. “Salah’s statistics speak volumes, and his incredible acceleration and dribbling skills make him an exhilarating player to watch—one that even rival fans can appreciate.
