Hi Ruben. It must feel great to secure a straightforward win this time around?
“Absolutely. Achieving a clean sheet is really significant for us. While we didn’t play our best throughout the match, we had our moments. The performance reflected a solid team effort: we maintained our focus, defended well, and aimed to control the game in the second half. I’m happy with that, and now it’s time to focus on the next challenge.”
The goalkeeper had an impressive performance today…
“Yes, he showed a lot of confidence in his first game. However, the key was that his teammates supported Senne and contributed to his solid performance. Everyone was focused, minimizing mistakes against a team that is very comfortable on the ball. Overall, it was a positive day for us.”
Many fans have been curious as to why Senne hasn’t played sooner, feeling he should have been in the lineup. What factors do you consider when deciding his playing time?
“When Senne joined us, Altay was already the starting keeper. Upon Senne’s arrival, it was clear he needed some time to adapt to a new country, new training, and the immense pressure that goalkeepers face. We wanted to ensure he was properly prepared for his first match. But now that he’s played, it’s just one game, and he must continue to work hard. Here at our club, the competition is intense. That said, he performed well today, and his comfort during the game is a very encouraging sign.”
