Ruben's Grimsby Press Briefing: Insights and Expectations

Is Mazraoui still sidelined, or is he expected to return soon?
“No, he may be back next week; we’ll see. He’s close to returning, and we’re just wrapping up some drills with him to ensure he doesn’t encounter any further issues.”

Ruben, you mentioned earlier that you weren’t quite ready for European play. Are you pleased to have some extra time to work with the team?
“Absolutely, I stated that last season. We need time to prepare for each match. The competition is intense, and we require time to establish a strong foundation, allowing us to progress in the future. There will come a time when we need to participate in Europe so that everyone gets the chance to play.”

Regarding Altay Bayindir, he seemed to be pushed over multiple times during corners in the first half. Do you believe your defenders are doing enough to shield him and protect his area from these incidents?
“Yes, we are doing everything we can. However, while I understand the focus on the opponent’s set pieces, remember just 10 or 20 minutes ago in this game, we created our own chances. We scored from a set piece, had a penalty, and almost scored again near the post. Every game in the Premier League typically includes significant moments from corners; it’s something that will occur regularly.”

Rasmus Hojlund was not included in today’s squad. Do you expect him to be available for Tuesday, or do you think he will be unavailable due to ongoing speculation?
“All players are available. We will select the best starting XI to help us win every match.”
