As we look ahead to 2026, Transfermarkt reached out to its community for their votes on the team of the year for 2025, and here are the results.
Transfermarkt’s Users Team of the Year 2025
Transfermarkt users were invited to vote for players in each position in a 4-3-3 formation, and fans from around the globe participated. Gianluigi Donnarumma was chosen as the goalkeeper following his outstanding performances for PSG in the Champions League, along with his impressive contributions at Manchester City. PSG’s full-backs, Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi, are recognized as among the best globally and both made the list. Arsenal’s defensive structure has been pivotal to their progress under Mikel Arteta, leading to the selection of centre-backs Gabriel and William Saliba.
The midfield trio holds a total market value of €410m, featuring Vitinha, who played a key role in PSG’s triumph, alongside Pedri, who has solidified his status as one of the world’s top midfielders. Jude Bellingham’s exclusion from the lineup is a notable surprise, despite a strong individual season with Madrid. Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have both delivered impressive attacking contributions for Barcelona, filling the wing positions, while Kylian Mbappé edged out Erling Haaland in the voting for the forward role.
