Liverpool has signed Hugo Ekitiké from Frankfurt, Arsenal acquired prolific striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting, and Chelsea has opted for Ipswich's Liam Delap. The question remains: which of these forwards will achieve the greatest success? Additionally, which club secured the best deal? Here at Transfermarkt, we’ve created five graphics to analyze the three new additions to the Premier League.

Let's delve into what is often viewed as the most critical metric for strikers—the number of goals scored. Reflecting on the last season, Gyökeres stands out with an impressive 54 goals for Sporting and Sweden throughout the 2024/25 season—a feat unmatched in Europe’s top ten leagues. Ekitiké scored 22 goals, while Delap netted just 12, although it's worth noting that Gyökeres achieved his numbers in lesser-ranked leagues.

When we turn our attention to career contributions (goals + assists) in top-five leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1), the narrative shifts. Gyökeres has not yet contributed any goals or assists nor made an appearance in these top-five leagues. In contrast, Delap has amassed 14 goal contributions, all during his time at Ipswich in the Premier League last season. Ekitiké leads this aspect with 50 contributions during his time in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga with Paris Saint-Germain and Frankfurt, respectively.

Considering the longevity of their careers, Gyökeres once again takes the lead—he is the oldest at 27, followed by Ekitiké (23) and Delap (22). Unsurprisingly, Gyökeres boasts the highest tally, with 174 senior goals across club competitions, predominantly during his recent seasons with Sporting. Ekitiké has netted 44 goals, while Delap has scored 26.

Next, let's discuss the financial aspect. Analyzing the current market values of the three strikers, both Ekitiké and Gyökeres are valued at €75 million. They both experienced significant increases in value over the past season, though Ekitiké's rise—up €55 million from €20 million—is particularly noteworthy. Gyökeres rose by €20 million, beginning the season with a market value of €55 million. Delap, on the other hand, holds a market value of €40 million, with an increase of €32 million last season.

When evaluating market values alongside transfer fees, we gain insight into which clubs might have secured the best value for these players. Both Arsenal and Chelsea acquired Gyökeres and Delap below their market values. Arsenal invested €65.8 million on Gyökeres—€9.2 million less than his valuation. Meanwhile, Chelsea spent €35.5 million on Delap, which is €4.5 million below his worth. Conversely, Liverpool's acquisition of Ekitiké for €95 million exceeded his market value by €20 million. Only time will reveal which transfer will prove most beneficial, but one thing is clear: the Premier League has welcomed some thrilling new strikers into its fold.
