In a recent episode of the Inside Carrington podcast, Ferdinand was asked to share his thoughts on Shaw’s impact this season and the experience the young players are gaining.
“I’ve always believed that if Luke Shaw is fit, he should be in the lineup,” Rio stated. “He can play effectively as a left-back or in a three-man defense.”
“Every aspect of his game is solid. He’s excellent with the ball and performs well in one-on-one situations. I’ve noticed a sense of calmness and authority in his play at this stage in his career, which is impressive.”
