Xabi Alonso has made a promising start to the season with Real Madrid, despite the painful derby loss to Atlético Madrid. He took over management at the end of last season, just before the Club World Cup, where Los Blancos were eliminated by PSG in the semi-finals. This tournament allowed Alonso a closer look at his squad as he aims to challenge Barcelona for the LaLiga title this season.

Real Madrid's legacy in the Champions League is unmatched, being the most successful club in the history of the competition with 15 titles. Fans, known as Madristas, are eagerly anticipating the finals in Budapest. Alonso kicked off the season with a stellar streak of six consecutive wins in LaLiga before the disappointing 5-2 loss in the Madrid derby. Kylian Mbappé has started the season strong, already netting 13 goals across all competitions. But which players saw the most significant increases and decreases in market value in the latest LaLiga update? Let’s take a closer look.

Real Madrid: Market Value Winners and Losers from LaLiga Update

The recent LaLiga market value update, released on October 2nd, confirms that Real Madrid maintains its status as the most valuable squad globally. Franco Mastantuono received the highest valuation increase of any LaLiga player, with his worth climbing by €20 million to €50 million. The Argentine joined the prestigious club from River Plate during the summer and has made a significant impact, scoring his first LaLiga goal against Levante. Additionally, both Arda Güler and Álvaro Carreras saw their values rise by €10 million, with Güler setting a record as the most valuable Turkish player in history at €70 million. As shown in the graphic below, Dean Huijsen and Fran Garcia also experienced market value increases.

However, it wasn’t all positive news for Madrid, as several prominent players faced downgrades. Vinicius Junior had the largest drop in value, losing €20 million, resulting in a new valuation of €170 million, down from his peak of €200 million. His international teammate Rodrygo also saw a €10 million decrease, likely due to his reduced role under Alonso. Furthermore, French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and Spanish center-back Raúl Asencio experienced similar €10 million downgrades.
