Chris Wood leads in scoring at two clubs
Identifying a top goalscorer is often one of the most challenging aspects in football, and those who consistently find the net for their teams are frequently celebrated as legends. But which player holds the record at each Premier League club? At Transfermarkt, we’ve compiled a list of the all-time leading goalscorers for all 20 clubs competing in the English top-tier next season. While some iconic names appear, a few may also come as a surprise. Five of these players are currently active with their clubs and have the potential to further increase their goal tallies, while several current stars are in pursuit of their club’s record Premier League scorer.
All-time Premier League goalscorers for current clubs
Leading the charge is Harry Kane, the top goalscorer for Tottenham in Premier League history, having netted 201 goals in 305 appearances for the club. He significantly outpaces Heung-Min Son, who has 127 goals, and is just 59 goals shy of the all-time Premier League record of 260. For Manchester City, the legendary Sergio Agüero leads with 184 goals scored in 275 matches. The first active player on the list is Liverpool’s all-time Premier League scorer, Mohamed Salah, who boasts 170 goals from 277 games and is likely to build on this impressive total. Manchester United’s record-holder is Wayne Rooney, who achieved 183 goals across 393 matches for the Red Devils.
Arsenal’s all-time top scorer is the great Thierry Henry, with 175 goals in 258 games. Alan Shearer is Newcastle’s top scorer, netting 148 goals in 303 appearances. Frank Lampard holds the record for Chelsea, scoring 147 times in 429 matches, while last May, Ollie Watkins became Aston Villa’s leading Premier League goalscorer with 75 goals, surpassing Gabriel Agbonlahor’s previous record of 74. At Everton, Romelu Lukaku leads with 68 goals in 141 appearances, followed closely by Michail Antonio of West Ham and Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace, both with 68 goals in 268 and 291 matches, respectively.
For newly-promoted Sunderland, Kevin Phillips is the all-time top scorer with 61 goals in 139 games, while Leeds United’s top scorer is Mark Viduka with 59 goals from 130 matches. Fulham’s Clint Dempsey scored 50 goals in 189 games, and Burnley’s Chris Wood follows closely with 49 goals in 144 appearances. Joshua King leads Bournemouth with 48 goals in 161 matches, while Brentford’s top scorer is Yoane Wissa with 45 goals from 137 Premier League outings. Raúl Jiménez tops the charts for Wolves with 40 goals in 131 matches, while Chris Wood also leads the scoring for Nottingham Forest with 35 goals in 74 appearances. Finally, Danny Welbeck rounds out the list as Brighton’s top scorer with 33 goals in 139 games.
