Premier League Unveils Schedule for 2026/27 Season
In a statement released on Friday, the Premier League confirmed the following details: “Given the increasingly packed global football calendar, player welfare continues to be a top priority for the Premier League. Consequently, the start of the next season will be delayed by one week. This adjustment will ensure there are 89 clear days from the conclusion of the current season and 33 days from the FIFA World Cup 26 final.

“The season will end one week before the UEFA Champions League final, scheduled for Saturday, June 5, 2027.

“The 2026/27 season will feature 33 weekends and five midweek match days. The Premier League schedule will be structured to minimize domestic competition overlaps with UEFA club competition dates whenever feasible.

“During the Christmas and New Year period, there will be no two match rounds occurring within 60 hours. This aligns with the commitments made to clubs to manage the busy holiday schedule within the broader international calendar.”
