Senegal has secured their spot in the semi-finals after Iliman Ndiaye from Everton scored the decisive goal in their quarter-final match against Mali earlier on Friday.
They will face either Ivory Coast or Egypt in the other semi-final, with that match wrapping up the quarter-final stage tomorrow.
Best of luck to Amad, who has emerged as one of the tournament’s stars, netting three goals for the Elephants and earning three Player of the Match awards.
Mbeumo will be returning to Manchester soon, but Darren Fletcher has confirmed he will miss Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup match against Brighton.
“I believe it’s too tight a turnaround,” he stated during his pre-match press conference. “So we’ll have the same squad available for the game as we did against Burnley, with no new additions.”
