When asked about Licha’s potential return to the matchday squad last week, the boss refrained from providing a specific date but indicated he is pleased with the player’s progress.
“He’s doing well,” Ruben said. “The knee is healing nicely, so I don’t want to commit to any particular day or week.”
“I’m not sure when it will happen, but he’s close to beginning training with the team. Ultimately, it will depend on Licha’s pace and whether he can secure his place back in the lineup, but he is getting closer to rejoining training.”
The Reds will face Nottingham Forest on Saturday, followed by a trip to Tottenham Hotspur the following week, ahead of the international break in November.
