Over the years, certain players have achieved remarkable success in the League Cup. <em>Transfermarkt</em> has identified the 20 players with the most victories in the tournament, with players tied on trophies ranked by their appearances in the competition.</p>
<h2>Players with the Most EFL Cup Trophies</h2>
<p>Two players stand out with six EFL Cup victories each, but the top spot goes to legendary Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero. The Argentine made 22 appearances in the competition and secured six titles with the Sky Blues. Former midfielder Fernandinho also won the EFL Cup six times with Man City, achieving it in 20 matches. There are four players who have lifted the trophy five times: the leading figure being former Liverpool striker Ian Rush, who played an impressive 81 matches in the tournament. Following him are Raheem Sterling (40 appearances), Kevin De Bruyne (29 appearances), and David Silva (19 appearances) in fourth, fifth, and sixth places, respectively.</p>

Emile Heskey stands out as the only player in the top 20 to have won the competition with two different clubs, capturing it twice with both Liverpool and Leicester City.</p>
