This summer, Transfermarkt users once again had the opportunity to vote for the “Player of the Season” across Europe’s top leagues. In La Liga, Barcelona’s star Lamine Yamal was thrilled to receive this accolade from the TM community and shared his excitement on social media. “The enthusiasm surrounding our Player of the Season award highlights Transfermarkt’s global appeal,” said Managing Director Thomas Lintz.
“When luminaries like Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, and Lamine Yamal accept our award, it’s a testament to our community’s engagement and support,” Lintz added. In Spain’s top league, Yamal, currently the most valuable player at €200 million, secured 42.2% of the votes, surpassing his teammate Raphinha (19.8%) and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé (18.3%) in second and third place, respectively. The rising star, who scored 43 goals in 58 competitive matches for Barcelona last season, expressed his gratitude to the TM community via a photo with the award on Instagram.
Throughout the summer, TM users could vote for their Player of the Season from a total of 19 leagues worldwide, with 24 nominees in each league. You can find all the winners and results from the top five leagues, as well as leagues from Indonesia to Greece, in the gallery below.
