OVERCOMING THE RECENT HISTORY OF THE FIXTURE
Our inaugural visit to the Totally Wicked Stadium, which served as Liverpool Women’s home ground last season, proved to be a success.
Previously, this matchup took place at Anfield last term, making today’s September encounter the first chance we had to play in St Helens. It certainly lived up to expectations, as United broke the unfavorable trend in recent meetings between the two teams, securing all three points.
In the last four league clashes, Liverpool had emerged victorious in three, marking them as a formidable opponent. Their performance in the 2023/24 season was particularly tough for us, as they completed a double over us while finishing fourth in the league, ahead of Skinner’s squad. However, with our latest win against the Merseysiders, United has now claimed two of the last three encounters, bringing satisfaction to our journey.
