Harry Kane addresses Barcelona rumors amidst Bayern Munich contract clause

Harry Kane has responded to speculation regarding a potential summer transfer to Barcelona, reaffirming his satisfaction at Bayern Munich. Recent reports have suggested that the Spanish club may pursue the England international next summer when Robert Lewandowski’s contract comes to an end.

Since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur for €95 million in 2023, Kane has been outstanding, netting 109 goals in 114 appearances while also providing 29 assists. He is considered one of the top strikers globally, and his impressive form this season includes 24 goal contributions in just 18 matches for Germany’s most prominent club. However, rumors about his future persist, partly due to a clause in his contract, prompting Kane to address Barcelona’s interest.

Kane discusses future at Bayern Munich

Reports indicate that Kane’s contract includes a clause allowing him to leave for €65 million next summer, provided he notifies Bayern of his intention to depart before the end of January 2026. If he does not express this desire by the deadline, the option becomes null and the contract runs until 2027. Currently, the England captain feels settled in Munich, making it appear unlikely that he will activate this clause.

When asked about the rumored interest from Barcelona, Kane told BILD: “I haven’t had any contact with anyone. I feel very comfortable in my current situation, and even though we haven’t discussed my future with Bayern yet, there’s no rush. I’m really happy in Munich, as my performance demonstrates. If there is contact, then we’ll see. But I’m not thinking about next season just yet; the World Cup is my focus this summer. It’s very unlikely that anything will change after this season.”
