During his press conference, Amorim discussed Ugarte, who played under him at Sporting.
“The first challenge is adjusting to a new team in a different country,” he explained. “While it’s easy to focus solely on what’s happening on the pitch, there can be off-field difficulties as well.”
“He has made progress in adapting, but gaining confidence is also crucial, and that’s part of my role. If you look at last year, take Bruno [Fernandes] as an example—his confidence is key to the team’s overall performance. When players are self-assured in their play, it allows everyone to engage and feel at ease on the ball. Ultimately, it’s more about the team dynamic than individual efforts.”
