Notably, he has overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo’s total of 103 Premier League goals—doing so in 122 fewer matches.
In terms of home performance, Haaland has now scored 37 goals in his last 28 games at the Etihad, showcasing his remarkable comfort in front of the City fans. Given Ronaldo’s legendary status in English football from his days at Manchester United, Haaland is certainly making a case for a similar legacy as he continues to break records.
Manchester City have not lost to any team in the relegation zone at home since November 2008, an astonishing stretch of 46 games, especially considering the volatility of the Premier League. This dominance was evident as City took charge early in the match. Just five minutes in, the towering Norwegian opened the scoring with a stunning finish into the top corner from close range. Although Haaland later missed a header from a Matheus Nunes cross—reminding fans of his human side—he quickly made amends by assisting Tijjani Reijnders for the second goal, putting City firmly in control.
