Over the last 18 years, John has crafted an operational delivery model focused on some of the most disadvantaged areas in Greater Manchester. He has played a pivotal role in expanding the Manchester United Foundation, which has now grown to be one of the UK’s largest football club charities and a prominent force for youth engagement in the North West.
The Foundation provides football, educational, and personal development programs, directly reaching over 42,000 young individuals across all boroughs of Greater Manchester and beyond.
In 2022, John received an MBE in recognition of his dedication to youth services. Additionally, Ulster University honored him with a doctorate for his exceptional contributions to the personal development of young people through the avenues of education, sports, and community involvement.
