This week, the Europa League kicks off with 36 clubs vying for glory in UEFA’s second most esteemed club competition. While it may lack the dazzle of the Champions League, it remains a highly sought-after trophy. Last season, two of England's prominent clubs faced off in the final, where Tottenham narrowly defeated Manchester United to secure their first piece of silverware in 17 years.

As this season unfolds, the competition appears wide open with no clear favorite emerging. However, the two most valuable squads come from the Premier League. Nottingham Forest leads the pack with a squad valued at €556 million, closely followed by Aston Villa at €547 million. Roma, Porto, and Stuttgart round out the top five. But which clubs have the largest stadiums in this tournament? Let’s take a look.

Highest Capacity Stadiums in the Europa League

There are eleven clubs with stadiums that can accommodate over 50,000 fans, with Roma owning the largest venue in the competition. The Stadio Olimpico, famously shared with their city counterparts Lazio, has a capacity of 73,261. However, Roma rarely fill this iconic stadium, averaging just over 63,000 attendees for their two home Serie A matches this season.

Real Betis comes in second place, although they are currently not playing in their home ground due to renovations at the Villamarin stadium, which holds 60,721. Instead, they are competing at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, which has a capacity of 70,000. Additionally, two Scottish clubs rank in the top ten: Celtic takes the third spot, while Rangers holds the eighth position; Turkish giants Fenerbahce are ninth.

Lowest Capacity Stadiums in the Europa League

Only two clubs have stadiums with capacities below 10,000. Ludogorets’ Huvepharma Stadium in Bulgaria accommodates just 8,000 spectators, while Go Ahead Eagles’ De Adelaarshorst Stadium can hold 8,011 fans. Notably, none of the top five league clubs appear in the list of the ten smallest stadiums, with FC Midtjylland’s MCH Arena having a capacity of 11,535.
