ESTELLE CASCARINO
PSG (2021-23) / United (2023)

Currently with Juventus, who we will face in matchweek six, defender Estelle Cascarino was the inaugural player to play for PSG before moving to United. During her 27 appearances for Les Rouge-et-Bleu, she celebrated a significant achievement with a victory in the 2022 Coupe de France Feminine, where her team triumphed 8-0 against Yzeure in the final. Unfortunately, her loan period at United from January to June 2023 did not yield the results she had hoped for, as she made only two appearances: one in our FA Cup win over Sunderland (2-1) and another in our 5-1 WSL win against Leicester in Leigh. Despite this, there is no question about the talent of the 18-capped France international, who, like her twin sister Delphine at San Diego Wave, has shown her quality on the pitch. Estelle has since recovered from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and reclaimed a starting position with Juventus, the reigning Serie A Femminile champions.

SIGNE BRUUN
PSG (2018-21) / United (2022)

Signe Bruun’s loan from Lyon was another short-term stint that didn’t offer many memorable moments, as the Danish forward participated in seven matches during the 2021/22 season, hampered by an injury that limited her playing time with Marc Skinner’s squad. One notable appearance was at Old Trafford, where a powerful long-range shot in injury time almost gave Signe her first goal in our 3-1 victory over Everton. Though she did not score during her time at United, she had a more prolific spell at PSG, netting 14 goals in 44 appearances between 2018 and 2021. Now with Real Madrid, Bruun has been impressive in her new surroundings, scoring nearly every other match since her move to Spain in 2023, making her a player to watch as the current UWCL campaign unfolds.
