A DAY OF MILESTONES

Sunday marked a day of personal achievements not just for Drury, but also for her interview partner Millie, who was celebrating alongside the team after their impressive victory.

The centre-back made her return by starting and completing all 90 minutes of the cup win, her first appearance since sustaining a knee injury during the WSL match against London City Lionesses in September.

In addition to Layla, Julia Zigiotti, Simi Awujo, and January signing Lea Schuller also netted their first goals for the Reds in this decisive win. Meanwhile, Player of the Match Maya Le Tissier scored an impressive opener in the second minute, marking the Reds’ 300th goal at home.

Schuller, along with fellow January recruit Hanna Lundkvist, made her first start for United after previously coming off the bench in last weekend’s draw with Arsenal.

Ellen Wangerheim, the club’s newest winter signee who finalized her transfer on Friday, also made her debut as a second-half substitute.
