Désiré Doué has undoubtedly emerged as one of last season’s standout players, earning the title of the 2025 Golden Boy from Tuttosport. The 20-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward succeeds Lamine Yamal, who claimed the prestigious award last year. The award ceremony is scheduled for December 1 at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Turin. Established in 2003, the Golden Boy award has acknowledged many illustrious winners, including Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, and Lionel Messi. At the end of each season, Tuttosport compiles a list of 100 players under the age of 21, which is narrowed down to 25 in October. The winner is then selected by 50 journalists.
Doué, who triumphed over fellow young talents like Pau Cubarsí from Barcelona and Kenan Yıldız from Juventus, transferred from Stade Rennes to PSG in the summer of 2024 for €50 million. Alongside clinching the domestic league and cup double, he also played a crucial role in PSG’s Champions League victory. Notably, Doué was named man of the match in the 5-0 final triumph over Inter Milan, contributing two goals and an assist. Over the entire season, he recorded 32 goal contributions in 61 appearances, with his market value soaring from €30 million to €90 million.
“The Golden Boy represents aspirations. For footballers under 21, dreams fuel their ambitions. Many past winners have gone on to achieve World Cup and Champions League glory – it marks an important step on the path to greatness,” stated Guido Vaciago, director of Tuttosport. “This year’s honoree, Désiré Doué, has already made his mark with two goals in the Champions League final, embodying a generation of extraordinary talents poised to dominate the coming decade.”
