Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has officially joined Caykur Rizespor on loan, as confirmed exclusively by Transfermarkt. The 22-year-old successfully completed his medical examination and has signed a temporary contract that will see him play for the Süper Lig club until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. Currently, there is no option for Rizespor to secure a permanent transfer, with Palace preferring a straightforward loan arrangement for the promising forward. Despite receiving multiple offers from Championship clubs throughout the summer transfer window, no deal was finalized. With the Turkish transfer window open until midnight on September 12, Rak-Sakyi opted to pursue a move abroad and will now join his new teammates.

By moving to Türkiye, Rak-Sakyi follows in the footsteps of former Palace player Yannick Bolasie and ex-Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who also joined the Turkish side. This transfer is seen as a significant acquisition for Rizespor, landing a highly sought-after talent. Crystal Palace had been hesitant to part with Rak-Sakyi, having previously rejected a transfer proposal from Leeds United last summer. The club views the London-born player as a key figure in their future strategy under head coach Oliver Glasner. With his contract running until June 2027, Palace has time to assess their options come next summer. However, with the €30 million acquisition of Yeremy Pino from Villarreal, it became clear that a loan arrangement would be beneficial for all parties involved.

Rak-Sakyi, who has a market value of €6 million, embarks on his third loan spell since graduating from the club's academy, having made his Palace debut in August 2021 against Chelsea. He first made a name for himself as a teenager with his loan to Charlton Athletic during the 2022-23 season, where he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists, earning him the title of Player of the Year from the club's supporters. After returning to Palace for the 2023-24 season, Rak-Sakyi found limited opportunities, appearing only eight times from the bench. Consequently, he was loaned to Sheffield United in the Championship, where despite netting seven goals in 35 appearances, he has now returned to his parent club and is ready to take on a new challenge in Türkiye.
