Cristiano Ronaldo consistently makes headlines due to his global prominence, and speculation about his future has intensified recently. With his contract at Al-Nassr set to expire this summer, he sparked discussions about a potential departure with a vague social media post. Following Al-Nassr's last Saudi Pro League match, Ronaldo shared on Instagram: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all." This was widely interpreted as a farewell to Al-Nassr, with rumors of offers from other clubs for the Club World Cup circulating.

However, it seems that Ronaldo is close to finalizing his future with Al-Nassr in a lucrative deal that will keep him as the highest-paid player in the world. Reports suggest that an announcement is forthcoming, as Ronaldo has agreed to terms on a two-year extension that will earn him approximately €185 million annually. Earlier this year, Marca reported that his deal would amount to €15 million per month, €3.8 million per week, and around €550,000 per day. Additionally, Ronaldo may be offered a minority ownership stake in Al-Nassr, highlighting his significance to the team, and he is expected to have input on player signings as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Future at Al-Nassr

During an interview at the Globe Soccer Awards in December, Ronaldo suggested the possibility of owning a club in the future. "I'm not a coach,” he stated. “I'm never going to be a coach, nor the president of a club. Maybe the owner of a club. If I were the owner, I would clarify things and address what I believe is lacking." Ronaldo has significantly elevated the profile of the Saudi Pro League more than any other player and has been influential in key decisions at Al-Nassr, even though he has yet to secure a major trophy with the club.

While Ronaldo's potential acquisition of an ownership stake at Al-Nassr reflects his future aspirations in football, the 39-year-old is not ready to retire just yet. He aims to achieve 1,000 professional goals, despite acknowledging that this milestone may be challenging to reach. In November, Ronaldo remarked, “One thousand goals is great, but if it doesn't come, I'm already the player in history with the most goals.” At Al-Nassr, he has scored an impressive 93 goals in 105 appearances, but realistically he would need to play several more seasons to hit the 1,000 mark, which seems unlikely as he approaches his 40th birthday in February.
