THE UNITED FAMILY
Yorke and McClaren share a long and storied history.
Dwight joined Manchester United from Aston Villa in the summer of 1998, while McClaren took on the role of Alex Ferguson’s assistant in February 1999. Together, they celebrated a remarkable season, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
Though both departed the club in the early 2000s to explore new ventures, they have remained integral to the United family, with Yorke serving as an ambassador and McClaren returning as an assistant coach under Erik ten Hag.
Currently, their paths cross once again as they face each other as managers in the Caribbean.
In September, McClaren’s Jamaica secured a 2-0 victory over Yorke’s Trinidad in a home match, setting the stage for an exciting rematch in the upcoming fixture.
