Celtic has mastered the art of balancing profitable player sales with maintaining a stronghold on the Scottish Premiership. The club has clinched 9 out of the last 10 league titles, a remarkable achievement considering they have generated over €254 million from player transfers during this period. This figure is likely to increase in the upcoming months.

Celtic winger Nicolas Kühn, who was frequently linked with a move to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, is now headed to Serie A side Como. The newly promoted club has secured Kühn’s signature for a fee estimated at €19 million for the 25-year-old. Since joining Celtic from Rapid Vienna last January for just €3.5 million, Kühn has become a standout player.

Last season, Kühn showcased his ability to both score and create goals, accumulating 21 goals and 15 assists across all competitions. His contributions averaged an impressive 0.98 per 90 minutes, with standout performances including four goals and assists in the Champions League, highlighted by a notable goal against Bayern Munich in the knockout stage. His market value has surged, having risen from €1.5 million at his arrival in Glasgow to an impressive €12 million now, and it is expected to grow further with this latest transfer.

Sources in Scotland indicate that Celtic was aiming for at least £15 million (€17.5 million) for Kühn this summer and have successfully negotiated a fee that exceeds that. If the transfer occurs at €19 million, it would align with the market value of Celtic's key players in recent years. As illustrated in the graphic, Celtic has fetched substantial amounts for their attacking talents, like the €29.5 million Brighton paid for Matt O’Riley and the €29.1 million received when Jota was sold to Al-Ittihad the previous season. Should Kühn’s transfer go through for €19 million, he will rank among the top five most valuable sales in Celtic's history.
