Six losses in eight matches

Celtic has announced the termination of Wilfried Nancy’s managerial role after a mere eight games. Appointed on December 3rd, the French coach had vowed to deliver ‘exciting, attacking, winning football,’ yet his brief stint has turned out to be a complete failure. Nancy recorded six defeats out of eight matches, prompting frustrated fans to call for his removal just weeks into his appointment.
The 48-year-old signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Scottish champions following a successful run with Columbus Crew in MLS. However, he has now been let go after only 32 days, marking the shortest managerial tenure in Old Firm history, surpassing the prior record held by Russell Martin at Rangers this season. Additionally, Paul Tisdale, who played a key role in Nancy’s appointment, has also been dismissed, leaving his position as Head of Football Operations untenable.

Assistant coaches Kwame Ampadu, Jules Gueguen, and Maxime Chalier will also be departing, and we extend our best wishes to them. Furthermore, Paul Tisdale has also left his role as Head of Football Operations. We appreciate Paul’s contributions during his time in that position. A further update will be provided to supporters as soon as possible.”
