Villa becomes the eighth club to achieve ten consecutive victories in all competitions, including the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and European tournaments, with Arsenal being the most recent team to do so earlier this year before their streak ended in early November. As shown in the table above, there are five clubs that have managed to go 11 games without dropping points, with four others achieving 12 consecutive wins. The standout team remains Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City from late 2020, who impressively went on a 21-match winning streak without a single draw or defeat.
While it may be a tall order for Emery’s squad to surpass Manchester City’s record, the statistics indicate that they are only three wins away from second place on this prestigious list. However, with upcoming away fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal, followed by matches against in-form Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, Villa will need to be at their peak to maintain this extraordinary winning streak. If they manage to secure victories against Chelsea and Arsenal during the festive period, few would bet against them defeating Forest at Villa Park, potentially allowing them to climb to second place in the longest winning streaks of English clubs in the 21st century.
