Do you get the sense that the team feels one goal won’t be enough in critical moments?

“Absolutely. I think everyone shares that sentiment—we know we need to score more goals. Even in the match against Brighton, we were leading three-nil, then things changed quickly… It’s something we grapple with. We’re inconsistent, and we need to do better.”

When you mention second balls and duels, it seems more than just a tactical issue. Is it about desire or perhaps a lack of energy?

“It involves second balls. Sometimes it’s about tactics; we make adjustments based on the players we field. In the closing minutes, we maintained possession and kept the ball away from our opponents, who weren’t fully pressing us. However, we can’t allow a taller team to get a corner when the ball is with our goalkeeper. These small details can be decisive, and today, a corner in the second half proved to be crucial.”

You’ve expressed frustration and anger; I assume your players feel similarly since they also don’t want to concede in that manner. Do you confront them right after a goal like that, or do you prefer to wait until the next day?

“No, I’m usually consistent in this regard. I had a similar situation with Brighton last year. I’ll speak with them tomorrow.”
