While Amad is likely to receive a warm welcome from the away fans at Old Trafford, Le Bris mentioned during his pre-match press briefing that any affection for the beloved 23-year-old will be set aside once the Premier League match begins.
“His time here was highly significant,” stated the current Sunderland manager, who took over in 2024 following Amad’s successful loan spell.
“The coaching staff appreciates him both as a person and as a player, both aspects are valued.”
“However, now he’s on the opposing side. He’s playing for the rivals, and during the match, he will be an adversary.”
“It will be nice to greet him, but once the game starts, he won’t be a friend.”
