“Right after the match, the atmosphere in the dressing room was heavy with disappointment, as we all know we have the potential to perform much better,” Amad shared in an interview with MUTV.
“We believed we could secure a win today, so it’s really disappointing to walk away with just one point. But we have to focus on the next game now.”
“After conceding two quick goals at the start of the second half, we felt the pressure to fight back and get back into the game.”
“Although we managed to make it 4-3, it’s still disappointing that we didn’t come away with a win. If we had won, we’d be in a better position on the league table. However, a draw isn’t a complete loss—the worst outcome would have been to lose. So, we’ll take this point and prepare for the upcoming game.”
The Reds are now turning their attention to Sunday’s Premier League matchup away against Aston Villa, but they will be without Amad and Mbeumo, as both will be participating in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
