How have your initial days been as the head coach of Manchester United, and what is it like to be in this position today?

“The two roles are quite distinct; being here in front of all of you is not the same as coaching on the field! It’s truly incredible to be here, and I’m excited about this opportunity. Having played various roles for this club, my love for Manchester United has grown deeply over the years. It has been a significant part of my life. I fully understand the weight of this position from many different angles. At the same time, I feel a strong desire to succeed because we have a substantial task ahead. Winning games and performing well in a specific style is vital here. So while there’s a lot of pride in being here, there’s also a crucial need for focus, concentration, and the determination to enhance the team and achieve better results.”

Hello, Michael. How do you define success? Is it qualifying for the Champions League?

“Absolutely, I see success as progress. It’s about fostering improvement, especially among the players. A significant part of what I enjoy is helping individuals grow, which ultimately leads to a stronger team. Working with the players to help them reach their potential is key. Naturally, results matter. There’s a balance of performance, development, and knowing how to win when it counts. We aim to finish as high as possible in the league, and we’ll see where that journey leads us.”
