Her diligent work ethic and talent on the field caught the attention of scouts in the Spanish capital, leading Atletico de Madrid to sign Hanna in December 2021.
During her two-plus years in Madrid, Lundkvist made her debut for Sweden’s senior national team, having previously played for the U17, U19, and U23 squads, with her first cap coming against China in 2023.
Unfortunately, an ankle injury forced her to withdraw from Sweden’s FIFA World Cup squad later that year. However, her strong performances at her new club, San Diego Wave, beginning in February 2024, allowed her to compete in her first major tournament at UEFA Euro 2025, where she featured in every match as Sweden advanced to the quarter-finals.
Prior to that, in the United States, the defender celebrated winning the 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup in her debut match for San Diego against Gotham FC, and she went on to make over 50 appearances for the Wave across two seasons, with the latest campaign concluding in November.
