“I thought our defensive performance was outstanding, which was essential given the circumstances. We put ourselves in a tough spot by going down to 10 players, and it’s definitely a topic we need to address moving forward,” Marc stated in an interview with Sky Sports.
“The way the team concluded the match, showcasing that resilient mentality, is crucial to everything we do on the field.”
“There’s always an opportunity to attack in the second half, but once we’re reduced to 10 players, it transforms into a battle. It clearly demonstrates that my team is ready to confront challenges head-on.”
When asked about his feelings regarding the red-card decision, Skinner responded honestly.
“Not really. After reviewing both bookings, I can’t dispute the referee’s call. It might have seemed swift, but Jayde put herself in a situation where the referee had to make a decision. Regardless of whether I think it was harsh or lenient, we can’t afford to create those situations,” he explained.
“It’s a learning experience, and as I mentioned, we’ll move on from it.”
