Following that draw, Cameroon secured a 2-1 victory over South Africa, despite a late surge from Bafana Bafana.
The Indomitable Lions took the lead with a goal from Stoke City’s Junior Tchamadeu in the first half, which was confirmed after an extensive VAR review. They extended their lead shortly after halftime when young star Christian Kofane scored with a header just two minutes into the second half.
Although Kofane missed an opportunity to seal the win after receiving a pass from Mbeumo, Evidence Makgopa managed to pull one back for South Africa with a close-range finish late in the match.
Nonetheless, Cameroon defended their advantage to earn a matchup against Morocco, scheduled for Friday at 19:00 GMT at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
